Moraira:

Despite having grown dramatically in recent years, Moraira has preserved its privileged environment which gives a special attraction to this small and charming Mediterranean population.

Moraira is a small, stylish coastal town with a beautiful marina, golden sandy beaches, boutique designer shops and a great choice of bars and restaurants. It is situated directly between the larger towns of Calpe and Javea and is approximately 75 km from the city of Alicante and just 31 km from Benidorm. It has about 14,000 inhabitants of whom surprisingly 60% are expats from Northern Europe.

It's old town retains a rich cultural heritage and keeps some secrets to visitors in the form of historic buildings, fortified churches, watchtowers, a castle and it's narrow winding streets . The main defensive fortress and the most interesting cultural attractions are the Castillo de Moraira, The Cap dór Tower and The Iglesia Fortaleza de Santa Catalina.

It's 8 km of coastline is also a key attraction of this region with 7 wide, golden sandy beaches within the vicinity of the town. The beaches here are all superb and stand out for the quality of their waters, cleanliness and the amount of services and facilities offered. Therefore, it is not surprising that many of these beaches have been awarded the blue flag by the European Union.
